It's a busy Chinese New Year Celebration in 2009!Two more days, the cny 2009 will over. Any way, it's a quite happening celebration all around Keningau and Tenom. We are busy on having function for few cny occasion since cny day-9. The 9th day of Chinese new year is the big day for hokkien people. Keningau's Royal Hotel, one of a new hotel at Keningau took this day to celebrate the Grand Opening Ceremony. We are invited to attend this grand occasion. The opening ceremony started with the Lion dance performance of 18 heads Lions (9 heads from Wu Shu Keningau and 9 heads from Keningau Tai Pak Temple), and continued with the Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony by the big bos of Royal Hotel (Ah Kau (mean 9 in hokkien) : Man with neck tie is Mr. Ah Kau) together with invited VVIPs. One of the VVIP invited was the General Manager of STC (Sandakan Turf Club) Datuk TC Goh.
All friends, relatives, chinese committee leaders and business partner, included more than 500 guests attended this opening ceremony which lunch prepared to all guests. The Royal Hotel Keningau was actually opened with soft opening since year 2008, they provide a wonderful executive and comfortable room with the appropriate price (above RM60 and compare to KK's, it might cost RM120++). Other than that, there was the King's Reflexology Centre, you can relax yourself with the wonderful of traditional massage. Day 11th of Chinese New Year - LDP Chinese New Year Celebration at TenomThe 11th Day of Chinese New Year, i am going down to Tenom for the Chinese New Year Celebration organized by LDP N.35 Melalap branch. We went there just for support our friend's live band performance - Tommy Tham. Mr. Tommy actually is the veteran band boy, but until the years of 50 above , he still enjoy jamming with his lovely Fender lead guitar. He also as the producer of Evergreen Band at Keningau. More on that; the occasion involved 52 heads of lions brought from Chung Hua Caltural Association as will as the dragon dance and Unicorn performance.
Keningau Hokkien Associatin celebrating the 2009 Ox Chinese New Year among the hokkien people at Keningau Tai Chi Hall on 7th February 2009 (Day 12th cny). More than 200 people came joined together. The Presiden of Hokkien Association Keningau Mr. Raymond Koh in his speech to welcome all guest, and wishing every one presanted will have a great ox year. Although the global economics are facing crisis, any way he hope that it will not effect so much to every body. The Children Lion Dance of Keningau Hokkien Association made thier 1st performance in cny celebration. The lion dance team specially formed on december 2008 for state level Fu Lian Gala Night; and the members are age between 6 to 8 years old; but they performed greatly.
